The Premier Program is designed primarily for the intermediate and advanced level soccer player and is devoted to the development of technical skills, creative play and the players understanding of the game. The program requires a higher level of training time, some out of area travel and financial commitments. The purpose of the program is to provide the serious soccer player with the opportunity to achieve the highest personal level of success within the sport and be the best they can be. All Premier Program teams receive professional training by some of the best club coaching staff in Northern California.

Players selected to participate in this program must attend club tryouts to determine the best team placement for the player and what is best for his/her development. Each formed team is then placed at the appropriate division and competitive play level. The professional coaching staff in conjunction with the Director of Coaching make recommendations for player and team placement.
Program Commitment
Playing
in the Premier Program does require a higher level of time and
financial commitment by each family and player compared to Recreational
soccer. The competition
is with and against the best players in our area and Northern
California.
Players selected for a Division I or III team must expect to
work hard individually at home and at team training sessions to improve
their technical skills, be creative and gain an understanding of the
game. The Premier Program is designed to meet the needs of the players
who want to be
challenged to grow in their soccer skills, love of the game and maximize
to the fullest their natural talent and ability. The program requires
that players and families be dedicated to the sport on a year round
basis. Typically this requires two to three training sessions per week
with a game on the weekend. The club has instituted a mandatory rest
period of sixty days in the calendar year to safeguard the well being of
the child. Parents
are expected to devote time, effort and energy supporting their
player, their team and the club.
Tournaments
Tournament play is an integral part of the Premier Program and our player development philosophy. Fusion SC believes that tournaments have valuable social, team building benefits and help foster a strong club culture. However, a balance of tournament play is a must to ensure that the proper player development goals and objectives are met, and safeguard the physical and mental well being of the players. Each club team is limited to 4-5 tournaments in a calendar year. Most of the tournaments are within the bay area and one potentially being out of town requiring overnight stay. Tournament selection is carefully evaluated and must be approved by the Director of Coaching. Fusion SC player development philosophy emphasizes quality training during the week with a weekend game.
