Girls are competing to win the NPL Champions League

The 2010 Girls Maroon find themselves with a chance to win the top division in NorCal, the NPL Champions League. This is the 4th consecutive season where the girls have competed or won a top league in NorCal.

The best part about the success is how it has been achieved. The majority of the players have been with the team since joining as a recreational player, aged 7. The clubs philosophy on player development has been followed and trusted since these first steps where made, and it goes to prove that trusting a process and philosophy can put you amongst the best.

“The players approach the game with a great attitude, competitive edge, trust each other and me, and most importantly love to play soccer!” Said Coach Ben Graham. “They continuously play for League Titles, State Cups or Event Championships, it is remarkable but I am not that shocked because I know what they are doing week in week out”.

The 2010 Girls NPL, along with the other Maroon teams at Fusion will also be playing in the DPL next year, another top event to shine on.

“Due to adding more games, we will need to add quality players and depth within the group. Something we knew we would have to do at some point”. Ben added, “we have a very busy season ahead with showcases and potential national events, its exciting”.

Tryout for the Team!

The greatest part of their journey is showing players/parents that if you trust the process in a club, players work hard together and for each other, your efforts will produce success in the future. This group is a great example of sticking together, working hard, driving each other to get better and finding success as a result.

“Elite players want a challenging environment but also one that is focused on long term development. This group of players is proof of that and one that shows that if you trust a process, success will be a byproduct” said Greg Rubendall, Fusion Director of Coaching.
